Getting there

Road · Johannesburg

389 km · about 4.5 hours

Good main roads connect Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport with Madikwe. Follow the official routing via Zeerust and Wonderboom Gate.

Road · Gaborone

46 km · about 1 hour

The Kopfontein/Tlokweng border post on the R49 is open daily from 06:00 to 24:00. Allow extra time for immigration and customs, especially in busy periods.

Air & arranged transfers

Road, scheduled air or private air

Rhulani can arrange road transfers from Johannesburg, Pretoria or Gaborone, as well as scheduled or charter air options.

Timing matters. Madikwe’s gates normally close at 18:00. Plan with a comfortable buffer and aim to reach Rhulani before 15:00 rather than relying on the border post’s later closing time.
